Screenplay Classes:  Learn the craft of writing.

Learn the fundamentals of character development, narrative structure, connecting scenes through cause & effect, and writing a satisfying ending.

Through in-person class lectures and writing exercises, different topics are covered each week.

Syllabus

PLOT:  From the opening event, the goal of the main character, the midpoint event, and the climax, this is the roadmap that takes your story from beginning to end.

CHARACTERS:  Characters come from within you.  As you write, your characters will begin speaking to you.  How is this possible?  It is possible because your characters are already deep down inside of you.

SCENES:  Like the overall plot of a movie, each scene has a beginning, middle, and end.  What happens at the end, leads into the next scene.

DIALOGUE:  A character enters a scene and has an objective.  The vocalization of that objective will determine what the character says.

THEME:  After the film has ended, how do you want your audience to feel?  The point you are trying to make will help determine your theme.  You should know your theme before you begin writing.

GENRE:  Action-Adventure, Thriller, Science Fiction, Horror, Romantic Comedy.

Thursdays, 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, four weeks.

Price:  $195.00
